Remicade contains the chemical ingredient called infliximab, which is a monoclonal antibody. Infliximab targets and attaches to TNF alfa in the body, it is thus called a TNF blocker. By targeting TNF alfa, Remicade reduces the body's inflammation.
Remicade is used by adults for the treatment of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriasis.
